Committee Recommendation

THAT the Traffic Advisory Committee expresses its concerns in regards to loss of Parking as a result of the proposed Taxi Zone and 'Kiss and Ride' parking zone.

 

THAT GHD Consultants be requested to make a detailed presentation to the Traffic Advisory Committee regarding proposed facilities at Beverly Hills Transport Interchange.

 

FURTHER THAT this matter be referred to Council for consideration.

 

TAC013-14        Stanley Street, Peakhurst - Request for 1/4P Parking Restriction (11/1550)

THAT a 10m ‘1/4P, 6.00am-5.30pm, Mon-Fri’ parking zone be installed outside 33-35 Stanley Street, Peakhurst.

TAC014-14        Morts Road, Oatley - request to extend Bus Zone  (13/124)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the existing Bus Zone located on the western side of Morts Road, north of Martin Place, Mortdale be extended by 5m to conform to the Road Rules.

 

THAT the existing 15m Bus Zone in Macquarie Place, east of Morts Road, Mortdale be replaced with a ‘1P, 8.30am-6.30pm, Mon-Fri; 8.30am-12.30pm Sat’ parking zone.

 

FURTHER THAT Punchbowl Buses be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC015-14        Arnold Street and Belmore Road, Peakhurst - Request for No Stopping restictions (10/781)

THAT the 10m statutory No Stopping restrictions be installed at all approaches of the intersection of Arnold Street and Belmore Road, Peakhurst.

TAC016-14        Norman Street and Boundary Road, Peakhurst - Request for Higher Mass Limit Access  (14/120)

THAT the request from Nicks Food at 28 Norman Street, Peakhurst seeking Council approval to allow trucks to operate at Higher Mass Limits (HML) on Norman Street and Boundary Road, Peakhurst be denied.

TAC017-14        Boundary Road, Mortdale - Road Safety Concerns (13/789)

THAT the request for installation of a traffic calming device in Boundary Road, Mortdale be denied.

TAC018-14        Belmore Road intersection with Henry Lawson Drive, Peakhurst - Request for a Right Hand Turn Signal   (09/815)

Committee Recommendation

THAT further investigations into the possibility of introducing a right turn phase for northbound traffic in Belmore Road at Henry Lawson Drive be abandoned as the RMS has indicated that they would not support this request due to the need for an additional phase at the traffic lights resulting potential pedestrian safety issues and delays for traffic on Henry Lawson Drive.

 

TAC019-14        Talbot and Hardwicke Street, Riverwood - Request to reduce speed limit (14/309)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the request to change the posted speed limit in Talbot and Hardwicke Street, Riverwood be referred to the Roads and Maritime Services for consideration.

 

FURTHER THAT Mr David Coleman, MP, Member for banks be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC020-14        Morgan Street, Beverly Hills - Road Safety Concerns  (13/354)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the existing No Stopping restrictions in Morgan Street at the King Georges Road end, Beverly Hills be retained.

 

FURTHER THAT the resident be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC021-14        Broad Arrow Road, Narwee - Request for a Pedestrian fence (12/616)

THAT the request to install a pedestrian fence along the median strip of Broad Arrow Road, Narwee be denied.

TAC022-14        Forest Road near its intersection with Koorabel Street - Request for a pedestrian crossing  (10/1461)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the request for a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Forest Road and Koorabel Street, Lugarno be denied as it did not meet the required RMS warrants

 

FURTHER THAT Lugarno Progress Association be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC023-14        49 Penshurst Street, Penshurst - Works Zone (13/114)

Committee Recommendation

THAT a 16 metre Work Zone be installed in Austral Street, Penshurst adjoining the construction site at 49-49A Penshurst Street, Penshurst for the duration of the work site, provided that the applicant pays the necessary fees in accordance with Council’s adopted Schedule of Fees and Charges for 2013-2014.

 

THAT the existing Work Zone in Penshurst Street, Penshurst be removed and a 12 metre ‘1P 8:30am-6:00pm, Mon-Fri, 8:00-12:30pm, Sat’ parking zone and a 12 metre Bus Zone in Penshurst Street, Penshurst be re-instated.

 

FURTHER THAT the applicant be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC024-14        Bridge Street, Penshurst - Request for Road Closures for Commemoration Sunday (14/59)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the Penshurst RSL Club's request to temporarily close part of Bridge Street and Connelly Street, Penshurst from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, 13 April 2014 be approved.

 

THAT a Traffic Management Plan (TMP) be submitted to Council, RMS and Police for approval at least ten (10) days before the proposed road closure.

 

THAT the standard fees and charges as per Council's 2013-2014 Schedule of Fees & Charges be waived for the proposed closure of Bridge Street and Connelly Street, Penshurst on Sunday, 13 April 2014.

 

FURTHER THAT Ms Margaret Smith, General Manager of Penshurst RSL Club is notified of Council's decision.

 

TAC025-14        Littleton Street, Riverwood - Request to block three car spaces to hold Anzac Day Service (13/241)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the Riverwood Sub-Branch of the Australian Legion of Ex-Servicemen & Women's request to temporarily reserve three (3) car parking spaces in Littleton Street, Riverwood outside the Riverwood Legion & Community Club to hold a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Memorial on Sunday, 20 April 2014 be approved.

 

THAT the standard fees as per Council’s Schedule of Fees & Charges be waived for the proposed occupation of parking spaces on Sunday, 20 April 2014.

 

THAT all emergency services, bus companies, St. George Cabs Limited and affected residents in Littleton Street, Riverwood be notified at least seven (7) days prior to the event.

 

FURTHER THAT the Honourable Secretary of the Riverwood Sub-Branch of the Australian Legion of Ex-Servicemen & Women be informed of Council’s decision.

 

TAC026-14        Littleton Street, Riverwood - Request for a Road Closure for Anzac Day March (13/241)

Committee Recommendation

THAT the request for a rolling road closure of Belmore Road, and Littleton Street on Friday, 25 April 2014 between 9:00am and 10:00am be approved pursuant to sections 139A and 144 of the Roads Act (1993).

 

THAT the request for the temporary closure of Littleton Street, Riverwood between Belmore Road and Erskine Street on Friday, 25 April 2014 between 9:00am and 10:00am  to facilitate ANZAC day services and the March be approved subject to the following conditions:

1.   Club Rivers shall prepare a detail Traffic Management Plan for the proposed road closure in accordance with the RMS’s Guide to Traffic Transport Management for Special events and submit to Council, the RMS and NSW Police for approval.

2.   Club Rivers shall notify all emergency services, bus companies, St George Cabs Limited and affected residents of the event at least seven (7) days prior to the event.

3.   Club Rivers shall advertise the road closure in local newspapers at least seven (7) days prior to the event.

 

THAT the standard fees for road closures as per Council’s Schedule of Fees & Charges be waived for the proposed closure of Littleton Street, Riverwood between Belmore Road and Erskine Street on Friday, 25 April 2014.

 

FURTHER THAT the Events Coordinator of Club Rivers and Honorary Secretary Mr. Alex Watling be informed of Council’s decision.

  

GB005-14          Shenston Road, Riverwood - Request for a Road Closure to hold Police Open Day on 5 April 2014

Committee Recommendation

THAT the request from Hurstville Local Area Command to temporarily close Shenstone Road, Riverwood between Belmore Road to just past the property line of Riverwood Police station on Saturday, 5 April 2014 between 7am and 4pm be approved provided that:

•        A traffic management plan for the proposed closure of Shenstone Road, Riverwood be submitted to the RMS.

•        The Hurstville Local Area Command be requested to notify all the affected residents in Shenstone Road, Riverwood.

 

THAT Council assists in providing barricades for the proposed road closure and preparation of a Traffic Management Plan for the event.

 

FURTHER THAT Hurstville Local Area Command be advised of Council’s decision.
