Avenue Mortdale - Review of Traffic Situation at Mortdale Plaza (13/226)

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report
on the findings of the traffic surveys carried out after three months of the
opening of Mortdale Plaza be received and noted.
THAT the
existing 10m long No Parking restriction located on the northern side of
Roberts Avenue west of 84D Roberts Avenue (Mortdale Plaza), Mortdale be
changed to a No Stopping restriction.
THAT an
additional 10m long No parking restriction be installed on the northern side
of Roberts Avenue west of the above No Stopping restriction at 84D Roberts
Avenue (Mortdale Plaza), Mortdale.
THAT the owners
of Mortdale Plaza be requested to install a physical barrier between the
entry and exit laneways of the Plaza to prevent vehicles from cutting across
the exit lane while turning right from Roberts Avenue into the driveway of
the Plaza.
THAT the owners
of Mortdale Plaza be requested to install a speed hump at the exit lanes of
the driveway of Mortdale Plaza, Mortdale to slow down traffic as they exit
the Plaza.
THAT high
visibility “GIVE WAY TO PEDESTRIANS” signs be installed at the
access driveway of the Mortdale Plaza to enhance the awareness of customers
that they have to Give-Way to pedestrians on Roberts Avenue footpath when
entering and leaving the shopping centre.
THAT explore possible
options of providing a right turn bay in Roberts Avenue, Mortdale at the
access driveway of Mortdale Plaza and present the options to the Traffic
Advisory Committee at its meeting in December 2014 for discussion.
FURTHER THAT
additional traffic counts be undertaken in February 2015 and the results of
the counts be tabled at the Traffic Advisory Committee at its meeting in
March 2015 for consideration.

Traffic Study Findings (12/558)

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
THAT the report
of the traffic study undertaken to investigate the possible options to
improve traffic flow in Kingsgrove Road, Kingsgrove be received and noted.
THAT the
proposed traffic management measures to restrict right turn movements from
Kingsgrove Road into Patterson Avenue, Kingsgrove be deferred.
THAT the RMS be
requested to include an agenda item at the Rockdale Traffic Advisory
Committee recommending Rockdale City Council to remove the existing on-street
parking spaces along the eastern side of Kingsgrove Road between Shaw Street
and Morgan Street, Kingsgrove during the morning peak period.
FURTHER THAT Ms
Cherie Burton, MP, Member for Kogarah be requested to make representations to
Rockdale City Council requesting Rockdale City Council to remove the existing
on-street parking spaces along the eastern side of Kingsgrove Road between
Shaw Street and Morgan Street, Kingsgrove during the morning peak period.

Night Markets - MacMahon Street Road Closure (06/128)

RECOMMENDATION
THAT the request
to close MacMahon Street between Dora Street and Patrick Street, Hurstville
(car park entrance) to host night markets on the second Saturday of every
month commencing in March 2015 between 8.00am-9.00pm be approved.
FURTHER THAT a
Traffic Control Plan for the proposed closure of MacMahon Street between Dora
Street and Patrick Street, Hurstville be prepared and submitted to the next
available Traffic Advisory Committee for consideration.

Shopping Centre Hurstville - Proposed Traffic Measures for the Christmas
Period 2014 (08/2191)

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
THAT the proposed traffic control measures in Park Road and The Avenue,
Hurstville, from Monday 15 December 2014 till Sunday 28 December 2014 be
approved subject to the following conditions:
1. The applicant
(Westfield) shall advise the Hurstville Local Area Command (Traffic Services)
at least 10 days prior to the implementation of proposed traffic control
measures. Any conditions imposed by the Police shall be fully complied with.
2. The applicant
(Westfield) shall advise the RMS and the Transport Management Centre at least
10 days prior to the implementation of proposed traffic control measures. Any
conditions imposed by the RMS and the Transport Management Centre shall be
fully complied with.
3. The applicant
(Westfield) shall advertise the proposed temporary changes to the traffic
situation in local newspapers.
4. The applicant
(Westfield) shall advice in writing to all the affected residents and
business owners approximately two weeks prior to implementation of the
proposed No Parking restrictions.
5. All traffic control
devices shall comply with the requirements of AS 1742, ‘Australian
Standard Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices’.
6. Only RMS accredited
traffic controllers shall be used to control traffic at the entry and exit
points of the shopping centre in Park Road and The Avenue, Hurstville.
THAT a temporary No Parking restriction be installed along both sides
of Cross Street, Hurstville between Park Road and The Avenue, Hurstville from
Sunday the 21 December 2014 to Sunday 28 December 2014.
FURTHER THAT Westfield management be advised of Council’s
decision.

Street, Riverwood - Request to block three car parking spaces for the 2014

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION
THAT the Riverwood Sub-Branch of Australian Legion of Ex-Servicemen
& Women's request to temporarily reserve three (3) car parking spaces in
Littleton Street, Riverwood outside the Riverwood Legion & Community Club
for the Remembrance Day Service on Tuesday, the 11 November, 2014 be
approved.
THAT the standard fees and charges as per Council’s 2014-2015
Schedule of Fees & Charges be waived for the proposed occupation of
Littleton Street, Riverwood on Tuesday, the 11 November, 2014.
THAT the Director of Service Deliver be given the delegated authority
to approve occupation of three parking spaces in Littleton Street, Riverwood.
FURTHER THAT Secretary of Australian Legion of Ex-Serviceman &
Women Riverwood Sub-Branch be notified of Council’s decision.

THAT parking on

(ODI) Women’s Matches between Australia and West Indies at the
Hurstville Oval.
